I'm Toby and I'm a 24 y/o man from Canada. I am obsessed with the marine industry and ships have always been a special interest of mine. I began work onboard commercial passenger ships as a deckhand in 2019 to explore my interest in the marine sector. I'm currently working on my qualifications to become a licensed third mate 'through the hawse pipe'. Marine safety, disaster, and incident investigations are my biggest areas of interest within the marine industry 
But aside from ships, I also have a wide variety of other interests and hobbies, which I hope to collect and share with others here on my site. This website is overall a personal project to bring together various parts of my life into one place and to function as a constantly-evolving 'digital diary' and place to express myself creatively. About me in particular:
- I'm making the most of my early twenties by having the same hobbies as a grandmother in the retirement home.
- I am transgender
I started my transition in 2018 and lived happily ever after. - I'm from a pretty rural area and I've never spent much time in the city before. It also rains for over 2/3rds of the year here.
- I like stargazing. My favorite constellation is Cygnus but my favorite star is Betelgeuse. My favorite messier object is probably M45, the Pleiades Cluster.
About my working life:
- I work on 2 different live-aboard passenger vessels operating in the coastal waters of western Canada. Each ship is respectively 150 meters (~500 feet) and 120 meters (~400 feet) in length.
- Most of the photos in my gallery were taken onboard.
- I live onboard the ship for 2 weeks each month but once I'm back home I have 2 weeks off work to do as I please.
