Gallery of Marine Disaster

Marine disaster is one of my biggest areas of interest within the marine sector. Safety and disaster go hand-in-hand and large incidents will always lead to changes in regulations, creating a ripple effect that spreads through the industry. I also just think it's fascinating to learn about the flow of events which culminate into disaster. The documentation of marine disaster is incredibly important to me because as a mariner it is very personal. To keep up to date on what is going on in the marine world, I like to read the recent TSB investigations in Canada and the US, or overseas if an incident is large enough to garner worldwide attention.

M/V Tricolor- 2002, capsized in the english channel and is famous for having more than 3 collisions in a span of two weeks. One of the outcomes of the 'tricolor disaster' was the creation of the emergency wreck buoy. Archived report on the sinking and video of the salvage operation.
